1:1 scale unpainted resin assembly kit
Danger Island Models is pleased to announce our first 1:1 scale resin bust, and we chose the baddest of bad guys to be the subject. In the 1968 film, PLANET OF THE APES, James Gregory portrayed General Ursus, the anti-human warmonger in groundbreaking makeup created by John Chambers. Danger Island partner, Jeff Wehenkel, has pushed away from his executive desk and hit the studio, running.
These photos are of Jeff's original clay sculpture. The bust is currently in the molding stage. Enjoy looking at creative genius at work (at play?). GENERAL URSUS will be the first of a full line of PLANET OF THE APES 1:1 busts. The line will include Cornelius, Dr. Zaius, and Zira as well, and who knows, there may be a BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES Mutant at some point.
